MOTD: Bottle Green Smoke

I first saw MAC’s Bottle Green Eye Shadow on makeup artist Priscilla Ono’s Instagram months ago, and it’s been on my wishlist ever since then. Now that the Pro Pan refills are so cheap, I decided to snatch it up recently and add it to my ever-growing collection. Now it’s time to break it out and give it a whirl!

After I primed my lids I applied Bottle Green all over my mobile lid with a small shader brush (Real Techniques Accent Brush). The color on this shadow is gorgeous but I will say it’s a bit dry so be prepared to layer and to have fallout.

I didn’t want to add definition all the way through my crease, so I opted instead to add just a bit of black (Makeup Geek Corrupt) to the outer v of my eye with the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush.MOTD bottle green 2

To blend out harsh lines I took a fluffy blending brush and a matte taupe shadow (Makeup Geek Barcelona Beach) and applied it just above the crease.MOTD bottle green 3

I lined my upper and lower lash line with a black pencil liner (Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Liner in Obsidian) and smudged out the lower lash line with Bottle Green.

I finished the eyes up by applying black mascara to my top and bottom lashes and adding a little bit of gold shadow (MAC Amber Lights) to my inner corners.MOTD bottle green 5

I kept the rest of the look fairly soft, opting for a nude-ish blush (Makeup Geek Infatuation) and a dusty pink lip (NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna).MOTD bottle green 6

Are there any special eye shadows that you have been coveting?

    1. Me too!!!! They look gorgeous on, but I haven’t wanted to shell out the money. I’m glad to hear Makeup Geek has some, thanks Tamara!

    2. MUFE has a nice duochrome in peackock a brown green thing. I find it lovely to do this until i get my paws on this green 🙂 It looks absolutely great

  1. I really want the Anastasia Renaissance palette, telling myself it’s okay to treat myself and some of my shadows are so old they NEED to be thrown out! It would be nice to have a fresh, clean slate with some great neutrals in it. I forget how good one great shadow be and how it can really be the star of the show! I tend to get lazy in my daily routine. Also Mykie of Glam and Gore on YT did a gorgeous rose gold look with shadows that would be lovely to own!

    1. @Annie – I saw that tut as well and she did a great job. Mykie is so fun to watch. That palette *is* tempting!

  2. Excellent tutorial. It’s so helpful to understand the color and shading nuances (taupe in the crease, black on the corner) that make this eye look work so well! I really want this green from MAC…and I’ve also been lusting over the Bobbi Brown metallic cream shadows (LOVE cream shadows). Honestly, I just want ALL of the pretty colors in all textures, formulas, and shades!
