MOTD: An Autumnal Look to Usher in Fall

Summer used to be my favorite season of all time, but that was back when Summer Vacation was a thing that existed in my life and I could spend all my time submerged in the pool. Nowadays I’m obsessed with the cool, crisp mornings, and bonfire-ready evenings that are benchmarks of Autumn. Pretty much as soon as September rolls around I start jonesing for scarves and ankle boots, but because it’s usually still hot in Kansas I have to settle for putting Fall on my face instead.

After I primed my lids as per usual, I applied a gold crayon eye shadow all over the mobile lid.

With a fluffy blending brush I then applied a shimmery rose gold shadow through, and just the above the crease.

For a little soft definition I lined my upper lash line with a metallic bronze crayon liner and then also applied that liner to the outer third of my crease and lid.

I finished the eyes off by using that same liner along my lower lash line and coating my lashes with black mascara.

I used a touch of MUG Shimma Shimma on the inner corners of my eyes.

The finishing touches for this look were a shimmery mauve blush, a vibrant orange lipstick, and a little bit of rose gold highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones and down the center of my nose.

  1. This look is brilliance, because OF COURSE the best neutral is metallic. Even with the bold lip, this is almost a low-key glamour look I think, because it just looks like your eyes came alive on their own! Your brows here too, are polished but not done, so it’s like perfect for a lunch date? You never fail me baby.

  2. Very nice!! I struggle a bit with the idea of combining cream and powder products, but I’ve been working on it. I find it easier to press it into the cream part and blend in and above the crease (if I put the cream on mobile lid). Hope this makes sense!

  3. Great lipstick! And your eyes look incredible! I mean your whole face does but I love how your eyes look defined without being heavily lined, or using black eyeliner. I can never seem to achieve that.
