MOTD: Valentine’s Beauty

As a single gal, I feel pretty meh about Valentine’s Day. I love seeing all the posts from my friends celebrating with their significant others but I also love the hilarious quips from my single friends on being single on day where love is kind of shoved in your face. So while I may not be dating anyone, I can appreciate love (and like for those not quite there yet) and people celebrating it. I do take myself on dates sometimes though (and boy do I know how to impress myself lol), so I thought it’d be fun to do a date night look for my smitten kittens and my sassy singles!

Disclaimer: I had a lot of issues with my camera this morning so I didn’t get shots of every step and I am not pleased with the lighting. I did want to get something up since I missed posting Wednesday though, so apologies in advance!

After I primed my lids I blended a matte pink-brown shade (Naked 3 Nooner) through my crease with my stiff blending brush (MAC 217) and then softened the edges with the same brush and a light matte dusty rose shade (Naked 3 Limit).motd-val-1

Next I applied a metallic rose gold shadow all over the lid, lined the upper lash line with black gel liner, and smudged that line out into a wing with a deep taupe shadow.

I used High Strung from the Colour Pop High Maintenance Palette on the lid, and Darkside from the Naked 3 Palette for the wing.

Finally I filled in my brows, added a shimmery yellow gold shadow to the inner corner of my eyes and finished with mascara.

This is a cellphone pic so not the best quality but you get the general idea.

I wanted the rest of my face to look very soft and glowy so I used a luminous finish foundation (Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk), a dusty mauve blush (MUG Blush in Puppy Love), and a light dusty pink matte lip (Maybelline ColorSensational Matte in Lust for Blush).motd-val-4

Do you have any special Valentine’s Day plans? What’s your go-to date night makeup?
