MOTD: Fresh-Faced Friday!

I am 100% here for looks that allow me to get ready in a very limited amount of time because I am constantly waiting until the last minute to get to my makeup. This week I came across an article on Into The Gloss about different ways to experiment with blush and I was totally inspired to try a fresh-faced, flushed look for MOTD today. My look won’t be a literal interpretation of any of those looks but it was definitely inspired by them!

I wanted to keep my skin looking really fresh so I opted for a luminous foundation (Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is my favorite).  For a nice flush on the cheeks I went with a muted orange cream blush (Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek in Quarters).

I used my fingers to apply and concentrated more of the color on the apples of my cheeks.

For the lips I used my finger to apply a bright coral lipstick (NARS Audacious Lipstick in Grace) to my lips by tapping it on and blending for a more stained effect.

I also concentrated a bit of cherry lipstick (Wet N Wild Cherry Picking) to the inner center of my top and bottom lip and tapped to blend.

I kept the eyes simple by sweeping a pale warm gold shimmer shadow all over the lid to just above the crease.

I used a fluffy blending brush for a softer wash of color and then coated my upper lashes with black mascara.

The finishing touch was to add a bit of rose gold highlighter (MAC x Taraji P. Henson Highlight the Truth) to the tops of my cheekbones and to sweep the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders (I have the trio palette) all over my face. motd-ff-4

I have a few different variations on fresh-faced makeup but I like that this includes a bolder lip.

Do you do “fresh-faced”? What are your favorite products to use for that?

  1. I had this whole conversation on Snapchat where we laughed because fresh faced is so good, but we both secretly berate ourselves for being boring. But it’s SO PRETTY! I love this. I am wearing coral blush today too – Never Been Kissed.

  2. I got the Milani coral blush (the rose shaped one), and I really like the formula and color! My blush collection has gotten quite outrageous. But those lips are awesome!!!!! The stained look in the middle is perfection! I just picked up cherry picking. I like a mix of high and low products, and the idea of a smudgy, stained lip is everything to me, as I’m so lazy about reapplying lipstick during the day!!! And your polish color is beautiful! You look very glowy, gorgeous and effortless, yet the products you used makes it a cohesive “look”! Very nice!

  3. This is so late but your nails look so good, holy. I’ve had really deliberately short nails for the last decade or so because I bite them when I’m nervous, but I’ve been letting them grow out occasionally into a downlow almond shape and I looooove them so much more than I thought I would…. Do you have any tips for maintaining your own? They look really close to my like everyday ideal shape.

    1. Thank you!! Um I had shorter nails for a long time because I kept breaking them, but then I started getting Shellac manicures and they grew out really well with that. My manicurist 100% gets credit for maintaining the shape because she’s the one that does them every two weeks lol.
